Welcome to TutorMeet. By using our app or website (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms govern your access to and use of the Platform, including any associated services provided by TutorMeet Pte. Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our").
1. Definitions
- Platform: Refers to the TutorMeet mobile app and website.
- Tutor: A registered user offering tutoring services through the Platform.
- Client: A user seeking tutoring services for themselves or others, including:
- Private Clients: Individual parents or learners.
- Corporate Clients: Registered organisations, including tuition centres and educational institutions.
- Education Partner: A third-party organisation authorised to offer upskilling courses and certifications via the Platform.
- User: Any individual or organisation registered on the Platform.
- Badge: A digital credential awarded to Tutors upon completion of verified courses.
2. Eligibility
To use the Platform, you must:
- Be at least 16 years old or have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- Provide accurate and complete registration information.
- For Corporate Clients and Education Partners: Be a legally registered entity in your jurisdiction.
3. User Verification
- Private Clients and Tutors may be verified using SingPass.
- Corporate Clients may be verified using Corppass or Unique Entity Number (UEN).
- Education Partners must undergo approval by TutorMeet prior to listing their courses.
TutorMeet reserves the right to reject or suspend any account that fails verification or violates these Terms.
4. Role of the Platform
- TutorMeet is a marketplace platform and does not provide direct tutoring or educational services.
- We are not responsible for the accuracy, quality, or outcomes of the services rendered by Tutors or Education Partners.
5. Payments and Fees
- Clients prepay for tutoring sessions via approved payment methods.
- Funds are released to Tutors after session completion is confirmed.
- Platform fees are deducted from the Tutor's payout, according to their tier.
- Corporate Clients may access customised billing and volume discounts.
- Education Partners may be subject to listing or commission fees as defined by a separate agreement.
6. Cancellations, Refunds, and Disputes
- Sessions can be rescheduled or cancelled according to our Cancellation Policy.
- Late cancellations or repeated no-shows may result in penalties or account suspension.
- Course refunds for upskilling programs are subject to the Education Partner's refund policy, which must be disclosed during purchase.
7. User Conduct
All users agree to:
- Provide truthful, respectful, and professional communication.
- Use the Platform for lawful purposes only, in the manner intended.
Tutors must:
- Only accept assignments within their qualifications.
- Maintain session logs and complete progress reports honestly.
- Avoid off-platform solicitation.
Corporate Clients must:
- Accurately represent hiring needs.
- Ensure that individuals interacting with Tutors are authorised and trained.
- Avoid off-platform solicitation.
Education Partners must:
- Represent course offerings accurately.
- Avoid off-platform solicitation.
8. Badges and Upskilling
Tutors may earn digital badges upon completing verified upskilling programs. Badges:
- Are non-transferable.
- Must be based on verifiable completion.
- May influence Tutor visibility and career progression.
Falsifying badge completion will result in disciplinary action.
9. Intellectual Property
- All content on the Platform (excluding user-generated content) remains the property of TutorMeet.
- You may not copy, modify, or distribute content without prior written permission.
10. Data Protection
We comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). See our Privacy Policy for details on collection, usage, and storage of personal data.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraud or abuse
- Have unresolved payment or service disputes
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:
- Disputes between users
- Learning outcomes
- Service interruptions or technical issues
13. Changes to the Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
