Artificial intelligence has fundamentally changed the way our world works, communicates and learns. Tasks that once required people are increasingly being automated. Driverless cars, agentless sales, bankerless investments and various other industries are seeing human roles being repurposed. AI has begun taking over the jobs that require ‘employees’ that do not tire, rest and stop. After all, we are only human they say.
Human beings have always learnt through interaction. By observing another person, being guided personally, a heartfelt encouragement, and genuine shared experiences. We imprint in each other things beyond just the tangible through engagement and that is how learning is done. The best educators do not simply transfer knowledge. They inspire confidence, influence character and elevate the way a person sees themselves.
As artificial intelligence becomes more accessible and information becomes easier to obtain, human qualities may become even more important. Creativity. Judgement. Empathy. Communication. The ability to inspire requires another human being. Because all of these are deeply human traits, and they are often developed through meaningful relationships.
That is why we designed an ecosystem to preserve, elevate and evolve the relationship between students and educators. Because we believe that in order for the next generation to advance society, in an age where artificial intelligence becomes a commodity, we have to retain the ‘humanness’ to truly bring humanity forward.
By no means does this imply that TutorMeet does not embrace AI. Many of our systems, automations and future tools are designed to be enhanced by artificial intelligence. But more importantly, this means that TutorMeet was never created to replace tutors.
The future will undoubtedly become more automated. But even in a world shaped by machines, humanity is what moves humankind forward. Our educators are, without a doubt, an integral part of that.
And perhaps that is exactly why being ‘only human’ still matters.
